What does it mean to a newly rescued beagle?

Feeling the warm sun on your fur and the cool grass under your paws.

A belly full of whisker-lickin' good food after an invigorating walk & sniff!

The welcomed comfort of a cozy soft dog bed when it's time to come indoors.

The sheer bliss of being loved from nose to tail while the stars and fireflies compete with one another to light up the night sky.

Welcome to the Dog Days of Summer

Whatever you're up to this long weekend, we hope you take a moment to reflect on the magical summer you're giving the beagles in our care.

Your Support continues to shine on our homeless howlers like the sun on a shimmery summer day.

Think of Velvet recovering from her eye surgery, learning how to follow the encouraging whistles of her Forever Foster Family.

And Seven starting treatment for Cushings as we anxiously watch for signs of improvement so he can have his much needed dental surgery.

And Tammy Faye Barker receiving the best possible palliative care including all the love in the world, after her inoperable cancer diagnosis.

She's loving the bakery muffins and banana-flavoured liquid Gabapentin, by the way.

And don't forget the day to day care of the rest of our senior beagles soaking up the sunshine AND the love of their dedicated foster families…

In no particular order,

Poppy the Mud Queen and Mr. French at the heavenly Haven, Sylvia up North country way, Mary-Lou (aka Abby) and Gabby and George Bayley representing the Beach Baby Sector, Sox & Roxy up in Barrie, May-Bea our West End Girl, Norman our East End Boy, Algernon and his favourite fluffy bed in the B-dot, Figgy Figgy Budd Budd (lakeside at the cottage as I write this!), Wyatt also up in cottage country on the most beautifully serene lake, the love list goes on.

And of course there's Sadie pictured here. The latest arrival to our humble Beagle Repair Shop. We've got our work cut out for us when it comes to Sadie. Heart trouble, teeth trouble, you name it. But Sadie isn't daunted and neither are we.

It's Summertime and she's got a serious case of the ZOOMIES!

This pic of her cuddling up with Daisy may not prove it but believe us…this girl can ZOOM and we don't mean on-line.

That's what love does. It gives our beagles the Summertime Zoomies.
