August 18, 2024 eblast:

From the moment we saw this pic…there was no hesitation.

We're all in!

We're spinning the Wheel of Fortune for Vanna.

And we’ve got high hopes for the Grand Prize.

You know, that spot on the Wheel that glitters the brightest?

She deserves all the glitter & gold the world has to offer.

She deserves the Big Win.

Right now, while we’re enjoying our summer vacations, this little beagle with the deformed foot is doing time in a Quebec animal shelter.

She was a stray.

She was abandoned by her owner.

Who knows why.

She’s a sweet little thing, guessed around 7 years old.

Full of beans despite the outlaw paw.

If she could tell you how she feels about it, we think she’d just laugh and say,

“Oh that silly thing? That’s just my lazy foot! The rest of my feet make up for that one!”

You see, Vanna prefers taking a positive spin on things.

And it's reflected in everything she does and everyone she connects with,

especially her caregivers at the shelter.

They really want her to win the jackpot, but here’s the thing.

Our shelters are beyond stretched.

They are overflowing with unwanted pets.

This is the aftermath, the slow burn if you will, of the Pandemic.

People are dumping their pets at an alarming rate and adoptions are at an all-time low.

We won’t let Vanna become a statistic.

We want to bring her HOME to us.

But we need your help.

Our foster homes are full.

And it’s the tail-end of summer.

We need to find that Big Win for Vanna.

We spin the Wheel. She spins her Tail.

It's a win win.

Her caregivers tell us she’s a love.

She loves people, dogs, cats and above all else, FOOD!

Typical beagle!

We’ve made some inquiries about the birth defect and apparently dogs with such deformities tend to do fine without any surgical intervention but we will of course consult with a specialist.

You know us, we like to get ALL the letters in the puzzle right-side up.

Because we REALLY like the part when the Winner jumps for joy.

***If you think you could offer a loving foster home to our little letter-turner, please don't hesitate to contact us.

If you've fostered for us before, please send us an email and we'll chat!

If you've not fostered before, simply fill out our Foster Application which can be downloaded from our web site at https://bigonbeagles.ca

We hope to receive a glitter-worthy response to this plea.

It may take time for us to review applications so please be patient with us.

We take these decisions very seriously and want to choose based on what we think would be

the best possible placement, for Vanna's sake as well as her foster parent.

Please know we are grateful for every single inquiry.

It shows just how much you care and that means a lot to us.

We will respond to all applicants as soon as possible.

Even if we choose someone else, remember that we've made a connection with you which could lead to the right match down the road!

Lord knows we need more foster homes on the ready!

If you can't foster but you still want to help, THANK YOU…

Donations are just as important to us and our work on behalf of beagles in need. Aside from a visit to an orthopaedic specialist, Vanna needs dental care and her spay surgery. Your financial support goes such a long way saving these worthy souls.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read our urgent message on behalf of this dear one with the lazy limb that we are so hoping will become the next member of our BOB Family.

UPDATE!!!

We did find Vanna a loving foster home!

Now, we're looking for her FOREVER HOME!!!

Vanna had her dental surgery at which time we found proof of her spay! We've also consulted with our vet and there is no need for surgery to her deformed foot. She's doing just fine on 3 legs and undoubtedly has done so since she was a wee puppy.

If you'd like to inquire further about Vanna, don't hesitate to send us an email!
