July 19, 2024 eblast:
This has been a busy and a somewhat harrowing week at the Beagle Repair Shop.
But finally, we're able to introduce you to our newest member of the BOB Family.
Meet Iris.
We drove through the torrential rainstorms on Tuesday to save this little one.
She was worth the
panic.
More
than we can say with mere words.
Iris
is the sweetest little beagle.
She is also a victim of neglect.
But not anymore.
She's the Belle of the Ball now.
She's the rainbow in our sky.
And
we are going to do everything we can to keep her shining brightly for years to come.
But right now, we're feeling more worry than we felt driving to her on Tuesday.
Besides a mouthful
of rotting teeth, Iris has a concerning mammary mass.
But the bloodwork we ran yesterday is causing even more concern.
She's slightly anemic and her albumin levels are higher
than our vets want to see. It could be indicative of an internal bleed.
Given the mammary mass we can see outwardly, there's worry there could be an
internal mass we cannot see.
And
so, Iris is back at our vet today undergoing an abdominal ultrasound.
Goes without saying, we're on needles and pins.
Iris deserves a happy and healthy new beginning to her life.
At roughly 9 years old, we're praying
for the chance to show her what her golden years should be.
The name "Iris" is of Greek origin and means "rainbow".
It seems the perfect name for a little girl who we met after
the rain.
A
little girl who brightened our world the moment we met her.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers this weekend.
We're counting on that pot of gold for our little rainbow girl.
Speaking
of pots of gold, we want to thank everyone again who supported our BEAGLE WIGGLE WALKATHON last month.
The funds raised are certainly
helping us with Iris in this very moment.
If you didn't get a chance to send a donation for the Walk, please consider it now.
It means so much to us and to beagles
like Iris.
